We are building a wide community of people who love travel and discovery, inside Egypt and well beyond it. We bring them together through a varied programme of trips and events that suit different interests, with the people themselves staying the focus from start to finish.
The group was started by the traveller Mohamed Zahran, known as Sleepy Traveler, in 2020 during the pandemic, at a point when nobody could travel or even leave the house. People began sharing their travel stories, plans and ambitions, until the idea of outings inside Egypt came up from our admin Nirvana, and from there the trips and activities took off.
Building a community from nothing was full of setbacks, but Zahran and the rest of the group kept at it. Over time it grew as more like-minded people joined, held together by a shared love of exploring and travelling. With a new admin coming on board every so often, the community started helping far more people get out and see places. Today there are 8 admins with more on the way, and after years of work Travel Buddies بالعربي is thriving, with thousands of travel lovers and a steady plan to widen what we do across the region.
